How to operate crochet machine better

The efficient and stable operation of crochet machines requires a combination of equipment debugging, raw material control, operating standards, and fault prediction. Different types of crochet machines (such as high-speed crochet machines, lace crochet machines, carpet crochet machines) have slight differences in operating details, but the general operating points are as follows, which can be directly used in production practice:
1、 Preparation before startup: Basic support to avoid source failures
Equipment status check
Clean the machine body, needle bed, and yarn feeding track of flying flowers, oil stains, and residual thread ends to prevent needle jamming or breakage.
Check the integrity of the needles (crochet hooks, yarn guides): no bending, no wear, no looseness. Damaged needles should be replaced immediately to avoid hooking the yarn or affecting the fabric texture.
Lubricate key components: According to the equipment manual, add special lubricating oil to the needle bed slider, yarn feeder bearing, and transmission gear. Do not use ordinary engine oil (which is prone to sticking and flying, and blocking the track).
Testing the electrical system: The power supply, frequency converter, and tension controller display normally without any alarm codes; Test run the transmission system and confirm that there is no abnormal noise or vibration.
Raw material pretreatment and tension setting
The yarn needs to be dried in advance (humidity controlled at 6%~8%) to avoid breakage, pilling, or fabric deformation caused by moisture; Synthetic fiber yarns such as polyester and nylon should pay attention to anti-static.
Adjust the yarn tensioner according to the yarn material (cotton yarn, synthetic fiber, spandex) and thread diameter: if the tension is too low, it is easy to cause yarn jumping and needle leakage, and if the tension is too high, the yarn breakage rate will be high and the fabric will stretch and deform.
Experience points: The tension of cotton yarn should be controlled between 10~15cN, the tension of synthetic yarn should be controlled between 8~12cN, and the tension of spandex elastic yarn should be matched with a tension compensator, with a tension fluctuation of ≤± 2cN.
The yarn spool should be placed vertically on the yarn rack to avoid tilting and causing yarn entanglement; Long distance yarn delivery requires the installation of a yarn guide ring to reduce friction.
2、 Power on debugging: precise parameters, matching fabric requirements
Fabric process parameter input
According to the order requirements, set the needle distance, vehicle speed, and yarn feed ratio on the control panel:
Needle spacing: determines fabric density. Fine needle spacing (such as 14G, 16G) is suitable for lightweight fabrics, while coarse needle spacing (such as 6G, 8G) is suitable for thick carpets and lace.
Vehicle speed: During the new machine or debugging phase, the vehicle speed is set to 50%~60% of the rated speed; After stable operation, gradually increase the speed, and the maximum speed of the high-speed crochet machine should not exceed 800r/min (to avoid overheating and wear of the needle parts).
Yarn feed ratio: It is directly related to the width and weight of the fabric. The larger the width, the higher the yarn feed ratio needs to be synchronously increased to prevent insufficient fabric width.
First piece trial weaving and adjustment
Start up and test weave for 1-2 meters before stopping the machine to check the quality of the fabric:
Appearance: No needle leakage, yarn jumping, or holes, uniform and consistent patterns, and no curled edges.
Dimensions: Width and weight meet the order standards, with a deviation of ≤± 1%; If the width is too small, increase the yarn feed ratio or reduce the vehicle speed; If the weight is insufficient, reduce the needle spacing or increase the yarn feeding tension.
Adjust the tension roller pressure: If the pressure is too low, the fabric is prone to displacement, and if the pressure is too high, the fabric will stretch. It is necessary to adjust it according to the thickness of the fabric to ensure smooth tension.
3、 Running operation: Standardized monitoring to reduce the occurrence rate of failures
Key points of real-time inspection
Inspect every 15-30 minutes, with a focus on observing:
Yarn conveying status: no winding, no breakage, and the tensioner indicator light is stable (no frequent flashing).
Running status of needle bed: no abnormal noise, no stuck needles, normal needle temperature (not hot to the touch).
Fabric forming state: timely clean the flying flowers on the surface of the fabric to avoid the flying flowers getting involved in the needle bed and causing needle breakage.
When a broken yarn is found, immediately stop the machine, use a special tool to remove the broken needle (manual operation is prohibited), clean the thread ends, and then re thread the yarn to avoid residual thread ends affecting subsequent weaving.
Operation taboos
Do not touch moving parts such as needle beds and traction rollers during equipment operation to prevent mechanical injury.
It is prohibited to arbitrarily change the parameters of the frequency converter (such as frequency and current upper limit) to avoid motor overload and burnout.
It is prohibited to mix yarns of different materials and diameters to prevent batch defects caused by mismatched tension.
4、 Maintenance after shutdown: Extend equipment lifespan and ensure efficiency during next startup
Equipment cleaning
Cut off the power and use compressed air (pressure ≤ 0.5MPa) to blow away the flying flowers on the needle bed, yarn feeding track, and transmission box to avoid damage to the needle parts caused by high-pressure airflow.
Wipe the oil stains on the surface of the machine with a damp cloth, and it is strictly prohibited to rinse the electrical control cabinet directly with water.
Component maintenance
Check the wear of the needles, replace the crochet hooks and yarn guide needles with severe wear to avoid uneven fabric patterns caused by the mixing of new and old needles.
Release the tension roller pressure and release the tension spring of the yarn feeder to prevent long-term deformation under stress.
Fabric processing
The woven fabric should be neatly wound and labeled with batch, width, and weight information; Elastic fabrics that are prone to deformation need to be left to stand for 24 hours before cutting and shaping.
